4 out of 5 stars They serve their purpose...   January 4, 2009

This kit was complete with a heavy-duty wiring harness, a relay, a switch, and a set of the Halogen Projector fog lights. The Installation was a PITA because of the holes on the Lights not being threaded, but the screws are self-threading (you just have to get them started). Lighting output is decent, not brilliant, but definately an improvement on my 2006 Nissan Frontier. These are far more brighter then the stock fog lights that came with this truck model, and about $100 cheaper too.

These were installed on my 96 Miata. Quality of the fogs were up to par in terms of finish and workmanship. Using a wrench with an 8 mm socket to start the bolts that attach the casing to the brackets is not at all difficult so long as you do this prior to installing the mount to the bumper for a test fit. The wiring harness will need to be cut to fit if you do not want excess wiring to be wound up. The lights throws out a wide beam pattern that is important in the country roads I drive in.

3 out of 5 stars Okay Kit, but nothing special...   March 1, 2007

The kit came complete for use, but a couple of features didn't impress me. First, when installing the bulb, it's rather difficult to connect the ground lead - not enough wire slack. Second, when I went to attach the light housing to the bracket, I had to tap each bolt hole...and this is rather difficult to do. It wouldn't have been too costly to already provide tapped holes. Overall the install went well and worked the first time.

1 out of 5 stars Corrosion Prone   February 13, 2010

I can second one of the other reviews - one of my lights only lasted one year due to corrosion completely dissolving the negative contact tab. I live in the northern Sierra's, where salt is prohibited on the roads for environmental reasons, so Hella's lame road salt excuse doesn't hold anywhere near as much water as my lamp housing apparently can. The lights were installed correctly with no issues or problems and there were, and still are no marks or holidays in the exterior finish. Neither of the rubber back caps were ever taken off prior to my looking to see why one light was out. The amount of corroded metal powder that was built up at the back of the housing when I took the rubber cap off was startling and simply touching the negative lead caused the lead come come off with the tab embedded in ball of white powder. The lamp is now worthless and cannot be salvaged. A quick search on one of the Toyota 4Runner boards indicated that I'm far from the first (or last) person to suffer this type of failure. Bottom line, this is a pretty piece of crap.
